FlySociable is an aviation-focused social platform for pilots, aviation students, academies, and aviation enthusiasts. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information connected to accounts, profiles, Flight Deck posts, Crew interactions, live flights, PFD-style sensor views, replay, support, and safety tools.

We use location in the background only while an active live flight is running. We do not use background location for advertising.

Information we collect

We may collect and process the following categories of information when you use FlySociable:

  • Account data: name, username, email address, phone number if provided, authentication state, account settings, and deletion/support request records.
  • Profile data: avatar, cover images, aviation interests, rank, achievements, academy affiliation, crew status, public profile activity, and other profile fields you choose to provide.
  • Posts, comments, Wings, shares, and media: content you publish in Flight Deck, comments/debriefs, reactions, uploaded images or media, reports, and moderation signals.
  • Authentication data: email login data and Google sign-in identifiers or tokens needed to authenticate your account. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Device and log data: device type, app version, diagnostics, request metadata, crash or error context, notification token registration, and operational logs used for reliability and abuse prevention.

Location and flight activity

When you choose to start an active live flight, FlySociable may collect GPS location, route points, speed, altitude, timestamps, telemetry status, and related live flight activity. This powers Live Flights, route sharing, replay, flight summaries, and safety/reliability checks.

Background location may be used only while an active flight tracking session is running, including when the screen is off or the app is not in use. Tracking is intended to stop when you end the flight. FlySociable does not use background location for advertising or unrelated tracking.

PFD and sensor data

FlySociable may use device motion, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, and GPS-derived data to display optional PFD-style flight information surfaces. Sensor data may be inaccurate or delayed and is used to support app features, not certified aviation decisions.

Camera, photos, and media

If you grant permission, FlySociable may access your camera or photo library so you can choose or capture profile images, posts, stories, reports, or aviation-related media. Media you publish or submit may be visible to other users or reviewed for support and moderation.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, authentication, Flight Deck social features, Crew communication, live flight tracking, replay, PFD-style displays, profile activity, support workflows, safety tools, abuse prevention, moderation, notifications, troubleshooting, and service improvement.

Sharing

Content you publish may be visible to other users depending on the feature and your settings. Live flight details may be visible to other users when you choose to share or start a live flight. We do not sell personal information.

Support, moderation, and safety

Reports, support requests, account deletion requests, abuse reports, impersonation reports, and unsafe-content reports may be reviewed by FlySociable support or moderation staff. We may retain records needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, and service integrity.

Account deletion

You may request account deletion through the app or by contacting support. Deletion requests are reviewed and processed according to operational and legal requirements. Some records may be retained only where required for security, fraud prevention, legal, regulatory, or safety reasons.
